About the Journal
ALENA: Journal of Elementary Education is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published by the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Islam Makassar, Indonesia. The journal serves as an academic platform for the publication and dissemination of high-quality research, theoretical studies, and innovative practices in the field of elementary education.
The journal welcomes original research articles, literature reviews, and conceptual papers that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in elementary education. Its scope encompasses, but is not limited to, curriculum and instruction, educational innovation, learning technologies, teacher professional development, educational assessment, character education, inclusive education, educational leadership, educational psychology, and other issues related to primary education. Contributions from researchers, academics, teachers, policymakers, and education practitioners are highly encouraged.
ALENA: Journal of Elementary Education is published biannually, with two issues released each year in January and July. All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure academic quality, originality, and relevance to the journal's scope.
The journal has been accredited by the Directorate General of Science and Technology, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, pursuant to Decree No. 355/DST/D.D1/HM.01.01/2026, issued on 24 July 2026, concerning the Accreditation Ranking of Scientific Journals (Period III of 2025). This accreditation reflects the journal's commitment to maintaining high standards of scholarly publishing and promoting excellence in educational research at both national and international levels.
